Support Needed
Urgent Need for Stable Workspace
WHAN began 2024 without a permanent base, which significantly disrupted our ability to support those in need. Long waiting lists grew as we faced the limitations of operating without dedicated space. Temporary support through Mill Street (Mar–June 2024) and Bedford Row, Holborn (June–Dec 2024) allowed us to serve more beneficiaries in safe, trauma-informed environments — greatly improving impact.
As of now, we are once again without a permanent space, and all new referrals to our Centre are on hold. Operating in isolation, without resources or a stable location, makes it extremely difficult to deliver our services effectively.
Why a Physical Space Matters
The women and girls we support need a safe, private, and welcoming space to speak openly about their trauma. WHAN is actively seeking a long-term workspace that will allow us to continue our services without disruption or compromise.
Volunteer Recruitment & Support
Volunteer retention remains a challenge due to limited resources. We've recently launched an online volunteer application portal and job descriptions for several key roles. We’re looking for individuals with experience supporting vulnerable communities to join us in meeting the growing number of cases we face each week.
